Ang Linggo ay karaniwang inilalaan natin bilang araw ng Panginoon. Kaya po ang tawag diyan ay Domingo o Day of the Lord. May tatlong tao tayo pinaparangalan kapag natapat ang araw na ito sa araw ng Linggo. Isa na rito ang Ina nating si Maria. At ngayon naman ay pinaparangalan natin ang araw ni San Juan Bautista.

Even in the way he teaches things, even in the way he teaches his doctrines, we learn gradually. Because he knows and understands our psychological growth or emotional readiness. Jesus, for example, at the very first level with his disciples, says  love your neighbor as you love yourself. The basis of this love is the love of self. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

The Vine and the Branches

(Mula sa Ebanghelyo ni San Juan 15:1-8)

Our passage for today contains many symbols which are perhaps the richest and most meaningful in the bible. Here, Jesus calls himself as the the vine and He refers to the Father as the vine grower. His disciples are the branches and His Liturgy of Word as the fruit.

Jesus says that branches that don't bear fruit will be eventually cut off from the vine. This means that people that don't listen to His words; people who refuse to follow His examples will be eventually cut off from Him.

Si Pedro at si Juan ay papunta sa templo. Sila ay nakasumpong ng isang taong lumpo. At ang lumpong iyon ay namamalimos.
Humihingi ng limos kina Pedro at Juan. Para bang expected niya na sina Pedro at Juan ay may ibibigay, yung dalawang alagad. Pero sabi ni Pedro, "Pilak at ginto, wala kami. Pero mayroon kaming ibibigay sa iyo." At ang sabi niya, "Sa ngalan ni Hesus, na taga-Nazareth, tumayo ka at lumakad."

Ang Mabuting Pastol

Ikaapat na Linggo sa Pasko ng Pagkabuhay
(Mula sa Ebanghelyo ni San Juan 10:11-18)

Para po sa atin ngayon, ang pagiging isang pastol ay hindi po natin agad mabigyan halaga sa ating buhay.
Hindi naman tayo, tinawag para magpastol ng kawan. Noong kapanaunan ng Panginoon, isa po yan sa mga kinabubuhay – ang pagpapastol ng mga tupa. Doon sila kumukuha ng ikakain. Doon sila kumukuha ng pananamit. Doon sila kumukuha ng tinatawag na ikinabubuhay. Kaya iyon ay kanilang inaalagaan.
